BIOGRAPHY

Polish violinist Emilia Jarocka (born in 1998 in Białystok, Poland) began her musical education at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski School of Music in Bialystok under Jan Andrzej Boruszewski, later studying at the Zenon Brzewski School of Music in Warsaw and the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music with Andrzej Gębski. In 2025, she completed her master’s degree in solo performance at the Zurich University of the Arts under Alexander Sitkovetsky.

As a soloist, Emilia has performed with orchestras such as Sinfonia Varsovia, Musikkollegium Winterthur, Podlasie Philharmonic Orchestra, Oskar Kolberg Świętokrzyska Philharmonic Orchestra, and Zenon Brzewski Warsaw String Orchestra. She is a laureate of international competitions including 1st Prize at the Georg Philipp Telemann International Violin Competition and 4th Prize at the Karol Lipiński and Henryk Wieniawski International Violin Competition for Young Violinists in Lublin.

Her orchestral experience includes academies with Sinfonia Varsovia and Musikkollegium Winterthur. In the 2022/2023 season, she served as concertmaster of the Jerzy Semkow Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra, performing at major Polish venues including the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio and the Warsaw Philharmonic during the 27th Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival. She currently hones her skills in the Advanced Concertmaster Programme at the Stauffer Academy in Cremona.

An avid chamber musician, Emilia is a founding member of the Fono Piano Quartet (since 2020) and the Veress Trio (since 2023). Both ensembles have been recognized at competitions, winning, among others, 3rd Prize at the 9th International Chamber Music Competition Johannes Brahms in Gdańsk and 1st Prize at the Kiwanis Competition in Zurich. Together with Krystyna Wiśniewska and Piotr Kozłowski, she recorded Leonard Bernstein’s Piano Trio for the album Interwar Retrospections (Sarton Records, 2021). As a chamber musician, she performed in prestigious venues such as Jordan Hall (Boston), Tonhalle Zurich, and the Warsaw Philharmonic Hall.

Emilia has refined her artistry through masterclasses with Midori Goto, Lisa Batiashvili, Julian Rachlin, Bomsori Kim, and many others, and has participated in international programs such as Morningside Music Bridge, Festival Ensemble, and the Musethica initiative.

Her artistic development has been supported by numerous scholarships, including the Young Poland Scholarship of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the Bridge to the Future Scholarship (Globalworth Foundation & Julian Cochran Foundation), and the Werner Reinhart Scholarship (Lyra Stiftung & Musikkollegium Winterthur). She performs on a violin made by Johann Georg Schönfelder from the second half of the 18th century.
